Spring Break Day 8 - Fayetteville

So. Nothing happened today. Emily and I basically just sat around and watched TV all day. It was a very relaxed day. Justin failed to respond to me so it doesn't look like I'll be getting my gas money for a while. Dyllan is more than likely going to come to UGA to see me next weekend so that should be fun. Hopefully next week when I'm back at school my blog will be interesting again :)

Spring Break Day 8 - Fayetteville/Stockbridge/Atlanta

So we drove the couple hours from Valdosta to Fayetteville yesterday stopping a couple times for food and gas and even once to turn around because we passed our exit. We eventually made it though. No worries. Not long after I arrived, I called Justin who seemed excited to hear from me. I apparently didn't scare him off :) We made plans to hang out later that night because his friend was having a party which turned into us going to a friend's surprise party. Justin calls me back at about 7 30 and I make my preparations to leave. On the road at 8.

It's late and dark. I'm tired. So I set out for an adventure. I'm not really sure about where I'm going but I have handy Mapquest to guide me. I didn't get lost once going to where Justin was but apparently I was misinformed about where to go so they had to come and get me. We went back to Philip's place and everyone, Philip, Justin, Megan and Austin, was complaining about not having alcohol... High schoolers... I wasn't really planning on drinking anyways so I just chose to be the designated driver. We have to stop my Megan's house to pick up something and right before we get there we hear of tornadoes in downtown Atlanta - close to where we're going. So everyone calls their parents, half jokingly but definitely with a serious intent, to tell them we love them. The storm dies before we get to Atlanta but right before we get to the party we almost die of other reasons.

I'm turning left at a minimal sight distance spot. Well, from what I can tell it's clear so I go as fast as I can. The car coming at me was seemingly thinking, "Let's go as fast as I can as well." Screaming ensues and I floor it. Luckily there wasn't a car in the lane I was turning into. All was well in the end.

The party was alright. I saw a lot of my old friends from all over. Apparently I'm not hated as much as I thought. Or everyone is really fake but I don't believe that. Austin had to leave early so it took us about thirty minutes to drag Justin and Philip out the door. Long story short -- Justin was pretty much all over me not wanting to leave, he's going to stay with Austin because Justin has to be up early, Justin and I make out and say our good-byes, I have to drive back to Emily's house at 1 45 in the morning, got lost a couple of times and took a few wrong turns, made it back at 2 30, sleep. What a fun night...

Spring Break Day 7 - Valdosta 3

We finally left Key West and arrived in Valdosta at about 8 30. Not much went on during the drive. Pretty boring actually. I'm just glad I finally have my own room I can escape to. Mum ordered pizza at 8 and it didn't come until after 9, much to my dismay as I had basically not eaten all day. Finished watching Across the Universe with mum. Very boring day as nine hours of it were spent on the road. And, good news, we leave again tomorrow for Atlanta.

Key West was basically a total bust. The money spent didn't even put a dent in how much fun I should have had. But it's over and there's nothing I can do about it. I did meet some interesting people but no random hook ups or anything. I'll know better for next year. I can't wait to just be back at school.

So a boy update to make this post a little longer. Ryan is having a delightful time in NY/DC. He didn't tell me but Sarah did. I really should just let go. Justin of UGA sent a drunken text saying he loved me while I was in Key West. Slightly awkward. He apologized the next day. Cain sent what I'm assuming was a drunken text wanting me to be with him even though he was Destin and I was in Key West. Starting to get the impression I'm just wanted for hook ups. Dyllan, who I do like and and likes me as well, lives too far away and will be going to school in my hometown next year which is even further away. I believe I pushed the other Justin away by having the very bad habit of being clingy. Damn me. Caleb and I are still friends. And those are all I can think of at the moment.

Spring Break Day 6 - Key West 3

Today was the first day where there was actually no rain. So we woke up early and tanned by the pool. Well, Emily and I kind of just burned but no big. I was reading Chronicles of Narnia and they didn't want to wait for me to finish 10 whole pages of the first book so they left for the beach without me. It's fine. I've failed to mention that Justin and I are sort of talking. So while they were at the beach we chatted. He's 16 and still in high school... Don't judge. He's cute. And he's taking AP Chem so that must mean he's smart...well smartish. After they got back from the beach we just lounged around and got ready for sunset. It was very ish. There were clouds and boats in the way so it wasn't super fantastic. But we did see a super hotty. Emily got a pic. Go Emily! :)

At at Hard Rock after sunset and there was some band playing so we watched that while eating. Did minimal shopping. Went back to the room to get ready to go out. Go out. Not very fun but to top the night off Donna lost her fake to a doorman. Go Donna! Definitely ended our night early. So now were back and I just got off the phone with my Valentine, Kelley <3

We leave tomorrow. I'm so excited. The sooner I can get away from her the better. We're not even going to see my high school spring musical now. This. Trip. Won't. End. Fast. Enough.

Spring Break Day 5 - Key West 2

Emily and Donna decided last night they wanted to get massages. So Donna went down this morning at about 8 to set an appointment and she comes back and tells us it's at 11 45. Being the responsible one that I am, I set my alarm for 11 20 because I know that they aren't going to wake themselves up. I wake them up and they go down there to find out the appointment was really at 11 15. Oh well. Got some good reading time in by the pool while they were massaged. Then for lunch we went to TGIFs where I'm pretty sure the guy who worked there was checking me out. But of course I didn't act on anything and so we left.

It rained for a good part of the day so we didn't do much. We went down to the pool for a bit but I got tired so I went up to the room and napped for a majority of the day. Donna and Emily went to the beach where they met some guys and played flip cup and what not. McDonalds for dinner. Hurray Key West! Their turn to nap and I woke them up again at 10 so they could get ready to go out. Met some really awesome people from UGA on the shuttle to downtown. Apparently our hotel is filled with nothing but students from UGA. There are so many down here. Went to Sloppy Joe's again where Go Go Gadget was playing again. They'll be here all week if you're wondering. After that we went to Rick's. It's a pretty cool place. It's absolutely huge! It's like 3 or so bars in one. We met some really cool people from Michigan there.

And now we're back because Emily felt nasty. Definitely faught over what we were going to watch on TV. I won so now they're sleeping. Oh wellz. Our trip has mostly been about what they wanted to do so I could at least get that. I have never wanted to leave a vacation so much and return back to Valdosta. This trip has seriously resulted in minimal fun. Tomorrow is the last night in Key West.

Spring Break Day 4 - Key West

Well, we woke up early (very early) to drive to Key West. Woke up about 2 30, left about 4, arived about 1ish. The drive wasn't too terribly bad or long. I slept for a good part of it. Didn't have to drive any so that was good although I wouldn't have minded. We finally arrived at the resort and there were three people who could have check us in. I wanted the one to the far right so I could use some sort of charm on him. Afterall, he was the best looking out of the three. Good thing we got him because apparently you have to be 21 or older or have someone that is to check in. He let us check in anyways but missed out on giving us information. It's okay. The other guy said he was new.

After arriving the first thing we do on our super fun vacation is...sleep! We woke up and decided to go eat and walk down Duval Street (downtown). So we did that. Check out the scene. It was cool. Proceeded to go back to the room and get ready for the downtownness. Asked the guy at the front desk some questions. They're going to know us by name eventually because we (well I) keep going up there to ask questions. Downtown was fun. Took us forever to decide where we wanted to go but once we did it was cool. Used my fake for the first time to get into Sloppy Joe's. It was nice. There was a really cool band that played a variety of songs. I believe their name was Go Go Gadget. The lead singer was cute but he had a really high pitched voice.

This trip definitely isn't as fun as I had anticipated. Certain people are hindering my fun dramatically. But I'm not going to complain -- I'm just going to try and have the best time that I can.

Spring Break Day 3 - Valdosta 2

Today was definitely the best day of SB08 so far! I got a fake ID! I know. Everyone is thinking, "Yeah right. Barrett would never get a fake." But I did! Woot! The rest of the day was ish. Got to finally sleep late. Visited my brother, his girlfriend, and my baby neice. She's too cute! Afterwards the fam, Em, and Donna all went to Texas Roadhouse. When we got back home we watched A Goofy Movie. Well, my mom and I watched it while Emily and Donna slept. Emily and I then went to Wal-Mart to get face wash and my fake from Jason, who is absolutely amazing! Now we're back and are watching Sleeping Beauty and then I can only imagine we're going to bed because we have to wake up so early to go to Key West! Yaaaaay! Oh yeah. It's Gay Spring Break in Key West. Enough said.

Spring Break Day 2 - Valdosta

Since I forgot to update last night, this will be yesterday's blog.

In the morning we did our daily yawns and stretches, showered, got ready, etc. Then we waited for Donna to show up at Emily's house -- the clan was complete. We met Carrie at Partners II Pizza. After eating we started our 3+ hour drive to Valdosta. Naturally, on any road trip, you have to stop at a sketch gas station. Our road trip was no exception. It wasn't as bad as it could have been but it was still...icky? When we got into Valdosta we stopped at my high school to see a talent show. It was pretty goodish. I saw a ton of my old friends and that was worth it. Free ice cream after that from my bestest friend Jarred. Then home and we basically lounged forever. Jarred wanted us to go to Club Paradise but no one wants to pay $14 for a very ish club. Oh well. Maybe today will be more exciting.
